The Boston Emergency Squad is currently looking for new members, no experience necessary- training is provided FREE of charge.

Yes, we will help you become a NYS certified EMT at no cost to you!!


Types of Membership:

  • Active Membership – Pull 6 or more hours of call time per week. You have a Minitor (one way radio) to wear around town or around your yard. Attend at least one business meeting and one training meeting per quarter.
  • Dual Membership – If you are a member of a fire company or another ambulance service, we will work with you to meet the requirements. You may pull call time or respond to a percentage of the calls. Business and training meetings can be offered to accommodate your other volunteer schedule.
  • Transitory Membership – If you are a student over 18 years of age and attending school out of the area, we have a program that will allow you to pull call time when you are home on break.
  • Driver Membership – Pull 6 or more hours of call time per week. Pull call time from your own home. You have a Minitor (one way radio) to wear around town or around your yard. Attend one business and training meeting yearly. This special meeting will include all the required training for the year.

Qualifications for membership:

  1. 18 years of age
  2. NYS drivers license
  3. CPR card
  4. First Aid, EMT, CFR, or Paramedic card
  5. Interview and approval of the membership committee. Majority vote by the General Membership
